This all-purpose chess set combines our Parker Staunton with ebonized and boxwood pieces matched with a Mahogany and Maple Notated Chess Board from Sunrise Chess and Games. The Parker has an old classic Staunton design and a handsome knight reminiscent of the older Jacque's sets. The ebonized pieces are polished to a rich luster giving them the look of real ebony at less than half the price. The king is 3.9" tall and has a base diameter of 1.65". The pieces are weighted to provide good balance and stability on the chess board. Thick green baize pads allow the pieces to slide smoothly across the chess board or land softly when moving. We include 2 extra queens for pawn promotion.

This is a handcrafted inlaid chess board made from premium quality mahogany and maple veneer. The craftsmanship of the inlay work is superb. Alpha-Numeric notation on the rank and file makes it a great choice for club and tournament games to help with recording moves. The squares are 2.25" and the overall size of the board is 21.25" and .5" thick. The board is finished in a polyurethane matte finish to seal and protect the wood while enhancing the natural colors. Felt pads on the bottom of the board to protect whatever surface it sets on. This is both an excellent chess set for tournament games and will look beautiful displayed in your home.
