Delivery can be delayed during December caused by bad weather and the huge increase in the number of packages that are being shipped. The Chess Store highly recommends that customers order early and allow for extra days if possible or select a special service such as 2nd Day Air for guaranteed delivery. Please be aware that FedEx suspends its delivery guarantee on ground packages from November 30th through December 31st.
Orders received by 8am Pacific Time are shipped same day. Past 8am orders are shipped the next business day. Use the FedEx Time-In-Transit Map below to determine how long it will take for your order to arrive. Time-in-transit does not include the day it ships, weekends, or holidays (business days only). count except Home Delivery does include Saturday.
FedEx Saturday Home Delivery
Most residential addresses qualify for Saturday Home Delivery but some do not such as rural areas and some apartment complexes. If given the option based on your address, The Chess Store will ship order with Ground Saturday Home Delivery.
Free Shipping
Free shipping is offered for orders over $100. Refer to the FedEx Time-In-Transit Map below to determine how long it will take for your order to arrive. Please note that Free Shipping is not a guaranteed service so if delivery by a certain date is required, select one of the expedited guaranteed services such as FedEx 2 Day or FedEx Next Day.
USPS Priority Mail
USPS Priority Mail time-in-transit for most of the country is 2 to 3 business days. Priority Mail is a non-guaranteed service and will not reimburse shipping charges for late deliveries.

This is the last day East Coast states (see time in-transit chart) can order with Free Shipping (FedEx Ground Home Deliver) for delivery by Saturday, December 23th. Please remember that Free Shipping is not guaranteed. If in doubt and delivery by Christmas is important, select FedEx 3 Day.
Monday, December 18th
This is the last day mid-west states (see time in-transit chart) can place orders with Free Shipping (FedEx Ground Home Deliver) for delivery by Saturday, December 23rd. East coast states need to use FedEx 3 Day for delivery by Friday, December 22nd. Please remember that Free Shipping is not guaranteed. If in doubt and delivery by Christmas is important, select FedEx 3 Day.
Tuesday, December 20th
This is the last day east coast and mid-west states (see time in-transit chart) can place orders with FedEx 2 Day Shipping for delivery on Friday, December 22rd. Western states can still use Free Shipping for delivery by December 24th but it is not guaranteed.
Wednesday, December 20th
This is the last day orders can be placed with FedEx Next Day for delivery on Friday, December 22rd. West coast states can still use Free Shipping for delivery by Friday. Refer to the time-in-transit chart.
Thursday, December 21st
This is the last day at 11am Pacific Time that orders can be placed with FedEx Next Day Shipping for delivery on Friday, December 22nd. Certain areas on the west coast can still use Free Shipping for delivery by Friday, refer the time-in-transit chart.
Friday, December 22nd
Orders received by 8am PT will be shipped.
Saturday, December 23rd through Monday December 25th
The Chess Store will be closed for Christmas. Orders placed these days will ship on Tuesday December 26th.
