This Silicone Rollup Chess Board is the most flexible rollup type of chess board available today. The silicone material has zero memory and will lay out perfectly flat after being rolled up as tight as you can get it for long periods of time. It's durable and washable but the printing can be a little more splotchy looking than that of a vinyl board. Another characteristic of silicone is that the texture does not allow pieces to slide as easily - it has some grip. Not necessarily bad, but definitely a different from a vinyl board where pieces slide smoothly. Given the pros and cons of silicone, this chess board is an excellent choice for most players and if you intend to carry your chess board rolled up.

I like this travel/teaching board because it doesn't have a "memory" like the vinyl ones that maintain a round corner when you try to straighten them. The squares look really nice, the blue is a great contrast for black colored pieces. Because of the silicon debris tends to stick to the board and it's a bit annoying to brush it off, but that's a little problem.
