These are the exact same pieces as our Club Plastic Chess Set but in a heavy weighted version with a total weight of over 800 grams. Having the extra weight is a little more expensive but the added stability of the pieces on the chess board makes it well worth it. As with all of our plastic sets we include 2 extra queens for pawn promotion. Pieces are made from an attractive glossy plastic that is durable and will stand up to the rigors of classroom use. The Chess Store 2 Compartment Chess Piece Box is made from heavy chipboard covered in a high quality leather-like black paper with our logo printed in gold foil. It has a center divider to separate the black and white pieces and a full telescoping lid so it stays on and won't fall off. The box measures 7" x 5" x 3" tall and fits these pieces perfectly.
