This is our lowest priced tournament size, 34 piece plastic chess set. Pieces are unweighted, have green felt paper pads, and come packaged in 2 heavy zip lock bags. Pieces are made from an attractive glossy plastic that is durable and will stand up to the rigors of classroom use. But we'll replace pieces for free if ever needed. This set includes 2 spare queens for pawn promotion. A terrific chess set for the beginner or tournaments needing large quantities at an affordable price.

    Our son had bought the heavier set for a few dollars more but for occasional use I decided to get this set and while I could feel the difference it was not that much. Love having a second queen and the felt on the bottom of the pieces.

    I'm using these pieces for a volunteer chess club program that I have with youth in Paterson, NJ. I was trying to match existing pieces and was able to do so. There was a "clitch" with the promo code which caused me to accidentally order an extra set of pieces, but the Chess Club can always use extra pieces. The "clitch" occurred again as I was logging in to write this review (the promo code disappears when you scroll over it), ahhh technology.

    Good pieces, packaged well for mobility. Appreciate inclusion of 2 queens for pawn promotion.
