This colorful chess set depicts Rus' (modern day Russia) and the invading Mongol empire back in 1237. The Mongols were a fierce and feared army numbering in the tens of thousands. Within 3 years and many bloody battles the Mongols successful conquered the Rus' empire.
The pieces are artistically sculpted and finely detailed to capture the essence of the characters. Pieces are made from cast poly-resin, a very hard, stone like material and are hand painted with an amazing level of fine detail.
