This elegant metal chess set created by the designers and craftsmen of Italfama has a traditional Staunton design that is ideal for both playing chess and using for décor in the home. The surface of each piece is decorated with an arabesque ornamental pattern giving them a luxurious appearance. Pieces are made from solid metal using the old-world, lost-wax casting process. They are then brass and nickel plated and lacquered to prevent tarnishing. This is a medium size chess set with a 3" king and a base diameter of 1". Pieces have red felt pads embossed with the Italfama logo. One of Italfama’s most popular chess sets.

This set was packaged very nicely in a box with separate slots for each piece, which is awesome when wrapping it for a gift. The pieces are really nice and seem very well made. My son will love the set!

Beautiful quality and chraftmanship

I was very satisfied with the beautiful quality of the chessboard and the pieces. I wasn't aware the metal pieces were handcrafted in Italy! We were so surprised and it will definitely be in our family for generations to come.
I also have to say that customer service went above and beyond to assist me. I originally ordered the wrong small pieces that did not compliment the board, and this was a few days before Christmas! The very accommodating staff not only shipped out the new set but didn't wait for the other pieces to be returned before sending out the replacement pieces and everything arrived before Christmas! Christmas was saved an I am so grateful! The Chess Store is a wonderful company, customer service, and quality products! I highly recommend the Chess store!!!
