Unencumbered by fine detail, the pieces will stand up to the rigor of everyday play and it's an especially good chess set for blitz. The king is 3.25" tall and has a base of 1.25". Pieces have thick green baize pads for a soft cushion on the chess board and are weighted for stability. The golden rosewood and boxwood are hand polished to a beautiful luster. We include a certificate of authenticity so you will always know what the chess set is, where it came from, and when it was made. Our Deluxe Chess Case has two drawers with individual compartments for storing all 32 chess pieces separately. The compartments are lined on the sides and bottom with a soft beige velour material to protect the pieces from getting scuffed up. The case measures 16.5" square and is 3" tall. The chess board squares are 1.625" and are enclosed by an attractive black border. The sides of the case have an elegant molded profile and the board on top is enclosed by a frame.
