Chess Pieces

This is the most sumptuous and elegant chess set I've ever owned. It's incredible to think that every piece is made one at a time, and in particular the knights are completely handmade, meaning every set it distinct and no two are entirely alike. The board is beautiful too and a great size, the only thing I would add is it should come with a box for the pieces! But you could just leave it out to display your fine taste.

Purchased these for my son's birthday. As a woodworker, I thought of turning/carving chess pieces myself, but decided to order these instead, When I received them, I was amazed at the detail, weighting, finish, and overall quality. There is no way that I could replicate these pieces, even cost wise, if I bought the boxwood myself. Plus I was able to find a set that was perfectly sized for my chessboard squares.

I am not overstating it when I say this has to be the best plastic chess set in production the world over. They look real, are superbly made, and are nicely weighted. I can't think of a better plastic tournament set. Love it. Bravo. I was wondering when the German Staunton set would finally appear in a quality plastic set.

I had seen a previous iteration of these pieces in the past, and they were very shiny and that gave them a very plastic look. The new design has a matte finish which looks so much nicer, and also the faux wood grain looks excellent too. It has the look of wood with the durability of plastic. I am enjoying mine very much.

I like these more than the wooden chess pieces that I paid $375 many years ago. They are absolutely beautiful, weighted very well, have an excellent "feel" to them, and are as tough as nails. I plan to buy them with a board for a friend for Christmas. John B.

Amazing quality and feel, gorgeous design. The pieces and the board to go with it are the best I’ve ever seen and felt. Unique and distinct design with sturdiness. Love that this set was showcased in the final game of Queens gambit, makes it even better.

This little tournament-quality set is perfect for the corner I bought it for, so now I can look at my book of Nezhmetdinov games over the summer! If the price of shipping wasn't more than the set itself I'd give it 5 stars, but $11+ to mail something this lightweight doesn't add up for me. Still, a nice little set!
