A movie in 1964, Zulu, depicted the Battle of Rorke's Drift which one of the most famous battles that took place during the British-Zulu war. This is an inlaid chess board made from red stained poplar and erable veneer sealed with a high gloss polyurethane finish to protect and enhance the beauty of the wood. The precision of the inlay work is remarkable. The squares are 1.75" and the overall size of the board is 17.5" and .5" thick. A wide black inlay delimiter accentuates the squares from the extra-wide frame adding elegance to the design. The bottom of the board has felt pads to protect whatever surface it sits on.
