This large two tray chess box is the perfect solution for storing large wood chess sets with up to a 4.5" tall king. We designed this box specifically to house and protect our high-end club size chess sets with kings from 4.2" to 4.5". The foam trays are made from EVA foam which is a high density foam and will stand up the weight of heavy chess pieces but is soft enough to dampen shock and protect fine detail on expensive sets. The trays neatly stack on each other and the top tray has finger loops to make it easy to get out. The box is made from heavy duty fiberboard and covered with an elegant black leatherette paper. The lid has our logo stamped in gold foil in the center and has a full length flap that is secured by hidden magnets under the paper. Compared to $400 or more for a wooden chess coffer, this is an exceptional value and protects the pieces even better because the compartments are softer and fully enclose the pieces.
