The pieces are masterfully handcrafted one piece at a time from solid boxwood. The ebonized pieces are hand-polished to a lustrous ebony-like finish at half the price. The king is 3.75" tall with a 1.625"base and heavily weighted providing excellent stability and balance, making these pieces equally suited for competitive play, casual family games, and elegant display. Green baize pads ensure every move glides smoothly and quietly across the board, and two extra queens are included for pawn promotion during tournament play.
