Our Padauk and Maple Molded Chess Board is simply stunning with the rich red-orange color of the Padauk contrasted with the rich amber color of the maple. This is the perfect chess board for matching with Padauk chess sets which are often called "blood rosewood" or an ebony chess set to create a contrast that looks exceptionally sharp.
This is an inlaid chess board with 60mm squares (2.375") and a wide black inlay border that frames the playing area and accentuates the rich colors of the padauk wood. A black molded edge adds another level of elegance and enhances the padauk color even more. This board will fit chess sets with up to a 2" base and up to a 4.4" tall king. One of our most beautiful chess boards!

Perfect
I was looking for a board with bigger squares to fit larger pieces and saw this one on sale. I had been interested in a board made with padauk, and the dimensions of this board would fit my table space (just barely), so I snapped it up. When it arrived and I slid it out of the product packaging, my first thought was “Oh wow, this is gorgeous!” The combination of lovely reddish padauk and amazing birdseye maple, along with the black moulded edge, is absolutely stunning. It is made in Spain by Rechapados Ferrer and is flawless. Best board purchase I’ve ever made and I could not be happier!

Beautiful big chessboard
Visually rich board. Sumptuous reddish padauk and textured bird’s eye maple. Goes great with my 4 inch king padauk and boxwood pieces. Almost too pretty to put pieces on top. Love it.

Chess Board
This is a great board for anyone wanting something different from the brown shades of Mahogany, Walnut, and so on. A nice bonus that's not that apparent in the web pictures is some terrific grain patterns in the light squares. The birdseye maple has some fantastic grain structure on this board, better than anything I've seen on boards in this price range. I also greatly appreciate the variety of square sizes available on this board and others. Kudos to the TheChessStore for that. They got my business for having a large selection of boards, in the most variety of sizes, even less common sizes like 2.375"
