Our Marengo Staunton chess set is named after Napoleon Bonaparte's famous Arabian stallion for which he rode during the famous battle of Marengo. This is a contemporary design but retaining the traditional features of a Staunton pattern. The knight is beautifully sculpted with realistic features and an elegant pose with its mane flowing back and head turned down. We offer the Marengo in ebony/boxwood and padauk/boxwood combinations with a variety of beautiful chess boards that compliment the pieces and together make the perfect chess set package.
