Our Walnut Burl and Bird's-Eye Maple Black Border Chess Board is handcrafted from the finest veneers and sealed in a semi-gloss polyurethane finish to both protect and enhance the character of the wood. This unique wood combination is designed to display the rich color of the walnut burl while highlighting the luxurious golden color of the bird's-eye maple. The natural wood colors combine to make the perfect contrast with the natural boxwood and obsidian black chess pieces. This board features 2” squares and has a footprint of 19.5" and is .5” thick. For balance of design and visual aesthetics, we surrounded the board with a wide bird’s-eye maple frame and accented both sides with a solid black border to highlight the playing area. This beautiful chess board will elevate the enjoyment of every chess game you play.
