Unencumbered by fine detail, these chess pieces will stand up to the rigor of daily play for a lifetime. This is a thirty-four-piece set that includes two extra queens for pawn promotion. The golden rosewood and boxwood pieces are lacquered polished to a lustrous shine. The king is 2.75" tall with a base diameter of 1.125", the perfect size for casual chess games at home. Heavily weighted for exceptional stability, the pieces have thick green baize pads for a soft cushion on the chess board. We include a Certificate of Manufacturer so you will always know what the pieces are, when they were made, and where they came from.
Our Walnut and Maple Molded Edge Chess Board from Rechapados Ferrer combines classic design with elegant features to create an eye-catching battlefield for your chess game. This is an inlaid chess board handcrafted from high quality walnut and maple veneer and sealed with a matte polyurethane finish that both protects and enhances the beauty of the wood. A wide and colorful burl wood delimiter accentuates the playing field while the black stained molded edge highlights the entire board. The squares are 1.5” and the footprint of the board is 17.75” square. Four felt pads on the bottom will protect whatever furniture the board sets on.
Our Classic Walnut Chess Box is wonderfully constructed and reminiscent of the old heirloom quality boxes from years ago. The box is covered in walnut veneer while the interior is lined with a luxurious thick green baize just like we use for the pads on our chess pieces. The box is a loose-piece design for simple stacking of the pieces and has a divider in the center for neatly storing the black and white pieces separately. We use high quality brass plated hardware including recessed hinges, lock, and key adding the final touch to this beautiful box.
