This chess set draws inspiration from the vintage pieces once produced by the French Lardy Chess Company in France in the late 1800s. The simple yet distinguished design has proven a timeless favorite for generations of chess players. This is a thirty-four-piece set that includes two extra queens for pawn promotion. The king is 3.25”-tall with a base of 1.375”, an ideal size for casual chess game at home. The pieces are heavily weighted for exceptional stability and have thick green baize pads on the bottom for a soft cushion on the chess board. We include a Certificate of Manufacturer so you will always know what the pieces are, when they were made, and where they came from.
Our Walnut and Maple Molded Edge Chess Board from Rechapados Ferrer combines classic design with elegant features to create an eye-catching battle field for your chess game. This is an inlaid chess board handcrafted from high quality walnut and maple veneer and sealed with a polyurethane finish that both protects and enhances the beauty of the wood. A wide and colorful burl wood delimiter accentuates the playing field while the black stained molded edge highlights the entire board. The squares are 1.75” and the footprint of the board is 19.5” square. Four felt pads on the bottom will protect whatever furniture the board sets on.
