This chess set includes our French Lardy Staunton with ebonized and boxwood pieces, 2 extra queens for pawn promotion, our Large Carry-All chess bag, and vinyl roll-up chess board. Our French Lardy Staunton originates from the classic model produced by the French Lardy Chess Company many years ago.  The pieces are beautifully shaped with simple detail that will withstand the wear and tear of regular use. This set features a 3.75” king with a base diameter of 1.5”, an excellent size for tournament play or the game at home. Pieces are weighted for stability on the chess board and have thick green baize pads. The chess bag is made from a heavy canvas material that will withstand the rigors of frequent use and travel. Inside the bag you'll find 2 compartments for chess pieces, a compartment for a chess clock. elastic straps for securing the board, and a pocket for storing books and pencils. An adjustable shoulder strap and handle makes carrying a breeze. The chess board is made from a soft, pliable vinyl with a cloth backing and has alphanumeric notation on the sides to help record moves.
