This attractive handcrafted chess set includes our Deluxe Old Club with genuine ebony and natural boxwood pieces matched with our Deluxe Two Drawer Black and Bird's-Eye Maple Chess Case. Our Deluxe Old Club in one of our most popular sets and you will often see it used for the artwork on the cover of chess books. This set is an ideal size for the casual game of chess at home with a 3.25" tall king. The chess case is made from solid wood and other wood veneers and has two drawers for storing the pieces if you should want to put it away. The chess board squares are 1.625" which is perfect for the size of this set. The combination of the jet black ebony and natural boxwood chess pieces with the rich golden-brown color of the walnut creates a beautiful contrast.

Our Deluxe Two-Drawer Black & Bird's-Eye Maple Chess Case is the ideal choice for combining a chess board with a way for storing pieces when you are not playing a game. This exterior of the case is made from solid poplar with an elegant molded edge design that incorporates a graceful curve and a three row beaded section at the top. The chess board is made from black stained poplar and bird's-eye maple veneer and has a decorative mahogany inlaid border to delineate the playing area. There are two drawers, one on each player's side that completely pull out to make it easy to put pieces away or take them back out. A recessed magnet on each of the drawer secures the drawer when closed.
