This plastic chess set includes our Deluxe Old Club with black and aged-ivory chess pieces matched with our Macassar Ebony and Maple Floppy Chess Board. Inspired by our longtime favorite Deluxe Old Club wood pieces, this affordable set brings traditional Staunton styling to tournament play and everyday games. The regulation-size pieces feature a 3.75-inch king with a broad 1.7-inch base for a balanced, substantial feel. Thick green felt pads help the pieces move quietly across the board, and two extra queens are included for pawn promotion.
Our Macassar and Maple Floppy Chess Board combines flexibility with the attractiveness of a wooden chess board. You can roll it up and even fold it and this chess board will lie perfectly flat the second you lay it down. The top surface is covered with a durable fabric with a no-shine finish that makes it the perfect surface for playing chess. This is a regulation size chess board with 2.25" squares and measures 20" overall. Alpha-numeric notation around the border helps players record moves during the game. Meeting US Chess Federation tournament size requirements, this complete chess set is a practical choice for chess clubs, schools, tournaments, and games at home.
