This exquisite chess set includes our British Staunton with genuine ebony and boxwood pieces matched with our Walnut and Maple Molded Chess Board. Our British Staunton draws inspiration from a vintage design originating from the old British Chess Company in the mid-1800s. Featuring a purely traditional Staunton design, the pieces are handcrafted one piece at a time just like they were over a hundred and twenty years ago. This is a thirty-four-piece set that includes two extra queens for pawn promotion. The king is 4”-tall with base diameter of 1.6” making it ideal for tournament games. The pieces are heavily weighted for exceptional stability and have thick green baize pads on the bottom for a soft cushion on the chess board. We include a Certificate of Manufacturer so you will always know what the pieces are, when they were made, and where they came from.
Our Walnut and Maple Molded Edge Chess Board from Rechapados Ferrer combines classic design with elegant features to create an eye-catching battle field for your chess game. This is an inlaid chess board handcrafted from high quality walnut and maple veneer and sealed with a polyurethane finish that both protects and enhances the beauty of the wood. A wide and colorful burl wood delimiter accentuates the playing field while the black stained molded edge highlights the entire board. The squares are 2.125” and the footprint of the board is 21.5” square. Four felt pads on the bottom will protect whatever furniture the board sets on.
