This is a large, tournament size set with a 4-inch-tall king. The pieces are heavily weighted for exceptional stability and have thick green baize pads on the bottom for a soft cushion and that allow the pieces to slide smoothly across the chess board. Our Walnut and Maple Deluxe Chess Board from Rechapados Ferrer features a classic design with colors that make the perfect backdrop for matching with the golden rosewood and boxwood pieces. This is an inlaid chess board handcrafted from high quality walnut and maple veneer and sealed with a polyurethane finish that both protects and enhances the beauty of the wood. A triple-layer delimiter accentuates the playing field while an extra wide frame adds a level of simple sophistication. The squares are 2.125” and the footprint of the board is 21.5” square. Four felt pads on the bottom will protect whatever furniture the board sets on.
