The board itself is very beautiful and well made. I use it with Italfama Classic Persian Staunton Brass and wood pieces (black and white; king base 1"), and I find the combination a great match. Though the pieces and board seem perfectly fine and sturdy to play with, in my home the set is used only as decoration. We have not had a visitor who would not marvel at the set's beauty.
