This beautiful bird's-eye maple chess box is the perfect chess box for storing your chessmen. It has an old world-charm with its lock and key for securing the lid and an emerald green baize interior with a divider in the center for separating the two colors. This is an inlaid wood box with a beautiful bird's-eye veneer on the outside finished with a satin polyurethane for a rich shine. High quality brass plated hinges and lock add to the attractiveness of this box. The bottom of the box is covered in with black felt to protect furniture where it might sit. This box will hold a set of typical 4" Staunton wood chessmen plus 2 spare queens.

The chess piece box arrived intact in a very well packed shipping box. The box itself is very well made and holds all of the chess pieces each side within its own compartment. The box opens and closes nicely, and the lock, while simple, works well. All in all, a nice receptacle for special chess pieces.
