This chess set includes the Battle of Waterloo hand painted theme chess pieces matched with our Blue and Erable High Gloss Deluxe Chess Board. This colorful chess set is based on the famous Battle fought between the armies of Napoleon and Wellington where they met just outside the town of Waterloo in Belgium on June 18, 1815. The kings are represented by Napoleon Bonaparte and the Duke of Wellington, the queens are represented by their wives, and the other pieces represented by the contingents of their respective armies. The pieces are artistically designed with features and fine detail to capture the essence of the characters. The pieces are cast in solid polystone, an extremely hard, stone-like material, and are hand painted in realistic colors by highly skilled artisans with amazing detail.
