This chess set includes a set of silicone chess pieces with a silicone chess board. The pieces are made from solid silicone and are heavy, durable, washable, and flexible while at the same time they stand rigidly. This is a 34 piece tournament size set with a 3.75" tall king and includes 2 extra queens for pawn promotion. Because silicone is so soft there are no felt pads on the bottom of the pieces so they can be easily washed. The silicone chess board is soft and pliable and you can roll it or fold it and it will lay back out perfectly flat no matter how long it's been stored away. The board has 2.25" squares and is 20" overall with alpha-numeric notation around the border to make it easier to record moves. The unbreakable nature of this chess set makes it an excellent choice for schools, clubs, and travel.

    Great Pieces!

    These pieces cost a bit more than the least expensive sets available but they are worthwhile. They are certainly durable, and the tactile and flexible qualities might appeal to players who like to fidget objects in their fingers while they ponder their moves. The tournament-sized board is bigger than I would like but it works as well as any board does, and true to promises, it lies flat and doesn't crease. It would be great if the manufacturer were to offer a similar silicone board with 1.75-inch squares. Until then, this one works.

    This a nice affordable set to teach my kids with and not worry about the pieces getting broken. The rollup board makes it easy to store. And it's nice that the pieces are easily washable. Very pleased.

    These are nice chess pieces for children. They are fairly large. I measured the king at about 3 1/2 inches tall. They are flexible and seem well constructed. The board is more of a mat, but also quite nice. I am very pleased with this purchase.
