Palomo Staunton Wood Chess Pieces

Inspired by and named for the magnificent stallion of Simon Bolivar, the Palomo is a large club size chess set with a contemporary Staunton design unique from any other in our collection. Each piece is thoughtfully designed to create a cohesive collection of pieces from king to pawn. The columns have a graceful profile that curve out beyond the layered collars creating a unique and elegant appearance. The knights are truly spectacular with a mane that gracefully flows down the back of the neck in every direction. The king is 4.4" tall with a 1.9" base and has as traditional cross formée finial. When playing you'll love the weight of the pieces and they have green baize pads for a soft feel on the chess board. Choose from ebony/boxwood and African padauk/boxwood combinations.
