    Library size French Lardy review.

    For starters I was so impressed by this French Lardy set that I plan on getting the tournament size fairly soon. What is there to say about a classic design? I am one for KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid). I find that a simple design chess set is the best set around. The Lardy design is basic. No bells and whistle just what a beginner to chess all the way to Grandmaster needs to play. The basic club plastic sets are patterned after the French Lardy. There are wooden basic club sets on the market but in my opinion the French Lardy is a better choice. However the set that was sent to me had a Black Queen showing a thin spot at the collar area. By that I mean that the Boxwood natural color was showing through. I just brought out my Sharpie and touched it up and we are good to go. Other than that the set that was sent to me was a really nice Library size chess set. It is a good set to do analysis with or just want a casual game or 2 with a friend or family member. Definitely a set that will create good chess memories.
