    1. Beautiful, nicely weighted, elegant chess pieces that urge you to play a game

These chess pieces were perfectly sized for the "Brass & Blue Chess Board - 1.75" Squares" also by Manopoulos that I purchased at the same time. The round bases at 1.25" provides for 0.5" of space within the square, making them nicely proportioned. The knight extends further out from its center round than any of the other pieces at 2.25" from tail to hoof. Placing it diagonally within its square results in a fun and workable look. The other pieces have plenty of space around them that you can easily have the knight adjacent to several other pieces without them looking crowded. (Although these chess pieces would also look great on larger sized squares, I simply don't have the space for a big chess board.) The chess pieces are nicely weighted, resist being knocked over by my cats, have no sharp edges, and have excellent detail. The contrast between the green antique copper and brass pieces is nicely vivid, making it easy to see who is where. I would highly recommend these to anyone that wants a playful game of chess that looks great in the living room where kids may roam as well as in an Executive Suite where the some joy of the game is definitely in order. on 23rd Apr 2016
