This is our Parker Staunton chess set in burnt boxwood and boxwood matched with our Macassar Ebony Chess Case. The Parker offers a traditional Staunton chess set with a unique design and finish. It has a classic style with handsome knights that have the look and feel of the older Jaques designs. To create the black, chess pieces are actually burnt followed by the final carving and design work which creates a beautiful contrast in colors between the blackened areas and the natural golden wood colors underneath. Chess pieces are then finished in high gloss lacquer giving the chess pieces a glass-like finish. Our Black & Ash Burl Deluxe Chess Board is the ideal chess board for these pieces.

Our Macassar chess case has spectacular colors ranging from orange-brown to black and a unique wood grain pattern unlike any other. The glass-like polyurethane finish enhances the colors even more creating a striking piece of chess décor. Black chess pieces are the perfect match while standing out prominently against the striped multi-color Macassar ebony. The case has 2 drawers, one on each players side with 16 individual compartments for holding a standard 32 piece set. The compartments are lined with a soft beige color velour material that looks great and will protect your chess pieces from scratches, dents, or damage of any kind.

    Wow! Wow! Wow!

In a day and age where quality seems to be fading in every corner of our economy it’s rare to experience the arrival of a product of quality that knocks your socks off. That is not the case with the chess board I ordered. It arrived in a box that was huge. Upon opening the box I realized why it was so big was because the packaging peanuts were not used sparingly at all. They protected the integrity of the product throughout the shipping process. When I pulled the chess board out I was amazed with the shine of the board. Glossed over and impressive. As I opened the individual bags for each piece I was amazed by the quality of the pieces as well. All around 11/10. Very rarely do I give a raving review but when one is due I take the time to give kudos. Bravo on a quality in a class of few.
