The king is 4" tall and has a 1.875" base - an excellent size for the casual game at home!     These are great wood chess pieces, very nice finished and heavily weighted. I really love how they looked on top of my wooden chess board. I highly recommend you to buy them, you wont regret it!

    I got this set for helping me look at online game positions, go through teaching books, and walk through games I study. The set is beautiful - very clean, nicely designed, wonderful in its detail. It's nicer than any set I thought I'd ever own. The natural wood colors add a lot to my enjoyment. It takes a little getting used to since other sets I've used are plastic black and white. I feel like having pieces this beautiful makes me want to stop and appreciate the game I love even more, so makes my study slower and more thoughtful. Obviously I can play with a much lesser chess set, but it's so nice to have this set, and to me it's well worth the price. I'm so happy I purchased it.

    We are very happy with our purchase. The chess pieces are a perfect match to our chess board table. Thy are nice to handle and since we play chess almost every day we hope to enjoy them for years to come.
