Our New Exclusive Staunton has a Jaques-esque design with all of the features avid chess players and collectors looks for in an upper-end Staunton chess set. The pieces have an elegant profile and the knight is beautifully sculpted with fine detail. The pieces are made from acacia and boxwood and are triple weighted for exceptional stability on the chess board. The king is 3.5" tall king and has a base diameter of 1.625". The pieces have thick green baize pads for easily sliding from square to square and a soft feel when placing down. We include 2 extra queens for pawn promotion. The New Exclusive is the ideal set for the casual game at home and impressive enough to leave out and display.

    I love every sing piece of this set all of them are beautiful the only two things that are wrong with the Set is that The queen is just way too small it looks goofy and doesn’t look like it belongs with the king the size is too skinny and it’s too short they need to thicken it and make the queen taller. All of the pieces are beautiful. All of them move smoothly on the chessboard except one Pawn of mine it was not Weighted correctly and every time I try to move the peace forward it just falls and it feels very uneven at the base. Other than those two things this set is beautiful I love it

    Using these Pieces with the DGT Centaur

    These pieces arrived today and they are gorgeous. They are heavily weighted and luxurious. I'm incredibly happy with them. They look even better than the picture. And their feel in the hand is wonderful. I bought this set to replace the plastic pieces that come with the DGT Centaur and they work perfectly. The DGT Centaur sensors work differently than DGT's other electronic boards. To make these wooden pieces work you have to attach metal stickers to the bottom of each piece. You can buy a roll of 1000 of those stickers on Amazon for roughly $6. And applying them took me all of 10 minutes. The end results is a gorgeous and luxurious wooden DGT Centaur set, worth every penny I made for them. I am very satisfied and Chess Store's service was exceptional!
