Our Hungarian Antique Reproduction chess set originates from the country of Hungary and was produced throughout the 1970's during the socialist period. This set has simple shapes and features and was designed with both function and cost. The king has a simple finial and the queen is simply formed without a pointed coronet common on Staunton queens. The bishop has a tall slender miter of the opposite color lacking the traditional slot and the knight lacks detail of any kind. Yet, this set has a distinguished look that collectors and players alike can appreciate. The Hungarian is 3.9" tall and is available in ebonized/boxwood and sheesham/boxwood combinations.
